THE ROCKS STUDIO #2
When I was walking around The Rocks on the first day I felt like I was in middle of a labyrinth. The streets there are from another age, which make them not have much sense nowadays. I can imagine it being perfect for the time they were built, there were no proper architects or engineers around so it grew in a very organic way. As in “we need the horses to go from here to there”, and...

THE ROCKS STUDIO #1
After one day of wondering around The Rocks I managed to collect a lot of stuff. The intention is to investigate and roughly map the neighborhood in all the connections it has to me and to all the levels of the complex modern environment (internet, imagination, memory, etc.). Thus, I was quite drawn into collecting the rocks of The Rocks, there is something about the coincidence of names that I...

RESIDENCY
I’m doing a residency at the historical district of The Rocks in Sydney. It is the result of a collaboration between The Rocks Pop-Up Project and the National Institute for Experimental Arts (COFA/UNSW). Over the next days (maybe weeks) I’ll be posting updates of how things are going.

BRASIL?
Ainda pensando nessa história de “imagem do Brasil”, me lembrei de uma coluna do Sérgio Malbergier na Folha de S. Paulo há uns meses atrás - “Brasil, um cenário em busca de roteiro”. Vale a pena ler aqui.

CLICHÊ
Novo restaurante brasileiro na Oxford St em Sydney. Até quando vamos carregar o clichê de “samba, suor e sacanagem”? Por sinal me fez lembrar de um episódio do Hermes & Renato, como sempre imbatível.

AUSTRALIA
This is the first picture I took in Sydney, I didn’t have any idea that I’d end up working at this store. Awesome times, cheers to Alice, Denis and Simon! Lots have happened since then and now I’m going back. I’ll undertake the Master of Fine Arts at the same beloved COFA. Wish me luck!

IN THE WORLD THAT I SEE
In the world I see - you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You’ll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You’ll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Tower. And when you look down, you’ll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying strips of venison on the empty car pool lane of...

BOOM!
“I came up with a new game-show idea recently. It’s called The Old Game. You got three old guys with loaded guns onstage. They look back at their lives, see who they were, what they accomplished, how close they came to realizing their own dreams. The winner is the one who doesn’t blow his brains out. He gets a refrigerator” Chuck Barris, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind
